Tiger Iron

• A polished tiger iron slab from the 2.9 Billion year old Marra Mamba, Pilbara, Western Australia.
• The slab displays folding and faulting with the golden yellow tiger eye contrasting against the black of the hematite/magnetite and the green, yellow, orange and deep red of the jasper.
• The slab also shows some well developed “tent” structures that has led to the theory that the formation of these items may be related to stromatolite growth.
• The colours and forms of this specimen are highly unusual and is a large and highly displayable item of great aesthetic appeal and extreme antiquity.
