Tiger Iron

• A polished tiger iron slab from the 2.9 Billion year old Marra Mamba, Pilbara, Western Australia.
• The slab displays almost parallel banding with the with chatoyant yellow gold and green tiger eye  contrasting against the black of the hematite/magnetite and the red, orange and yellow of the jasper.
• The slab also shows some well developed “tent” structures that has led to the theory that the formation of these items may be related to stromatolite growth.
• The various constituent layers and coloring make a highly displayable specimen o great aesthetic appeal and extreme antiquity.
