A symmetrical wing-shaped pair of polished
tiger iron slabs
from the 2.9 Billion year old Marra Mamba, Pilbara, Western Australia.
The slab displays convoluted folding with the golden yellow tiger eye contrasting against the black of the hematite/magnetite and the deep red of the jasper.
The weight quoted is the total weight of the 2 slices and the dimensions are averages.
The geometry of the two slabs suite them to be used as
book ends
