The Kulu Valley in the Himalayas of India is famous as the only source of this unique
Quartz
habit.
The specimen has at first look the appearance of one crystal but it is modified by an extremely complex twinning arrangement.
The crystal or crystals are clear but tinged with the subtle pink of a very thin
iron oxide coating
.
Its tempting to say this is a doubly terminated crystal but it shows such complexity it is hard to say with certainty.
This is a highly displayable and unique specimen from a fast a largely diminished source with marked complexity.
